The establishment of the Center for Research and Consulting (CRC) Co-operative Institute of Malaysia (CIM) is to enhance research activities and consultation and make it as a continuous culture among CRC academics. Through this research and consultation, the CRC training officer will be able to enhance  their knowledge and deepen their knowledge in various fields areas related to the management and administration of the cooperative that became the reference of the cooperative movement in Malaysia.

The CRC also plays an active role in producing publishing materials in various forms and disseminating relevant information for cooperative movements. CRC is responsible for managing CIM publications such as the Malaysia Journal of Cooperative Studies (MJCS), Koop Dimensions, Co-operative Success Stories and Research Monographs
